Hi Druce - thanks so much for reading and writing in. You are absolutely right IF you are a competent coder or have engineers to support you what you are saying is spot on. I'd be happy to connect sometime and share a bit more about areas I'm having lots of luck helping some of my clients use low-code or no-code solutions to automate things feel free to DM me on twitter @petesena with your email and we can connect live.

Two quick examples:

Marketing:

(Cutting down dev and implementation costs for marketing websites - https://webflow.com/customers (many stories like this to cut down on dev costs here)

Business Process:

One Example from me:

- Automating an entire ERP fulfillment set for a large SME using https://tray.io/ (total cost less than 1 week of work start to finish (QA included), this job was specced out by the clients internal engineering group at a 3 +month $100,000+ cost to implement a custom solution. Annual platform cost = $17,400 (1450/month saas). Now you could you argue that the cost of computing time if they built and ran this app from scratch on their internal AWS stack would be a fraction of that (you'd be right) but time-to-market and their ability to get live created lots of benefits. Ultimately the reduction of labor costs, and increased time to market resulted in both a cost reduction and revenue increase for a few key customers that needed this custom feature.

In most cases let's assume this app costed $100,000 to make with annual maintenance costs and other needs with a lifespan of <2 years the payback period + opportunity cost exceeded the value of building this custom and freed up their limited engineering resources to focus on other more permanent and valuable needs.

Another way to think about this for me is that low-code and no-code can be a valuable prototyping or MVP solution set as well.

Hope that helps and I'll look for that DM from you. Have a great week. PS - checked out your "The AI Hierarchy Of Needs" and really liked it, a very interesting way to think about data/information and I'm a sucker for a great maslow metaphor.
